Bring me the one that stalled.
I take on a small number of engagements at a time, which means I can afford to be straight with you about whether yours is one I should take.
What to send
Four things, roughly.
- The decision the system has to support. Not the technology you want to use — the call somebody has to make, and what they're doing today instead.
- What data exists. Rough is fine. "It's in three systems and two of them disagree" is a real and useful answer.
- What's already been tried. A pilot that stalled tells me more about the problem than a clean brief does.
- The constraint. A regulator, a deadline, a budget, an integration nobody wants to touch. This is usually the thing that decides the design.
What happens next
No pitch deck.
The first conversation is a scoping call. You'll get an honest read on whether the thing is worth building, and if it is, a written scope with a fixed price. If it isn't, I'll tell you that too — it's a shorter conversation and it costs you nothing.
If the fit isn't right but the work is real, I'll point you at someone better suited where I can.
Based in Austin, Texas, working with clients anywhere. Engagements run through Acosta‑Li LLC.
Or start smaller
Not sure it's a project yet?
Send the question anyway. Half of what I get asked turns out to be a two‑email answer rather than an engagement, and I'd rather tell you that than sell you a scoping sprint you don't need.
